There is a secluded spot just outside St. Jean de Buèges, in the foothills of the Séranne mountains that is so peaceful and surreal as the water changes color with the time of day and depth of the pond.

It is very Dreamy and dream-like, as the giant plane and fig trees stretch their long arms into the water and small fish dart in between water plants.

La Source de la Buèges, the very spot where water runs down from the mountain and begins the Rivière Buèges. As you walk down the path and stand by the ‘source’ you hear a trickle of water, constant and small.  As you continue down the path along the water, the ‘river’ begins to widen, the sounds and the water have more depth.

But the color and the clarity is like nothing one has ever seen.

There is no swimming in this pure, crystal-clear mountain pond.  Only sitting on a stone bench and gazing, contemplating, reflecting and dreaming.

And before we know it, hours have gone by.
